And, it doesn’t look like buying, selling and swapping pre-loved items will be slowing down any time soon - as according to latest figures, Brits are spending a huge £1.5billion a year at car boots!*
So, why are we a nation of pre-owned lovers? Here at Davidsons of Morpeth, we’ve looked into our fascination, and it will come as no surprise that the top reason is to save money, as a huge 64 per cent of us buy second-hand items to make their budget go just that little bit further. But that’s not the only reason, 12 per cent do it because it’s more environmentally friendly and they don’t want to let a perfectly good pre-owned item go to waste.
Additionally, seven per cent of us prefer to purchase second-hand items as it can help benefit the local community, nine per cent want to upcycle their purchases, and eight per cent think it is easier to spot how good quality something is, as it has already been tried and tested.

Before a retailer is allowed to carry the Network Q badge, every Network Q vehicle on the forecourt is subjected to a rigorous Multi-Point Check by a team of highly trained Vauxhall technicians. Testing everything from safety and security to engine performance and paintwork, this service is synonymous with used car quality and integrity, allowing customers to drive off with all the confidence and reassurance they’d get from buying new.

To add a greater sense of ease when buying a Network Q vehicle, an Ownership Promise ensures that customers know exactly what they’re getting – nothing is hidden and there are no surprises. The Promise covers aspects such as: mileage; identity; checks for stolen vehicles and checks for outstanding finance agreements.
And it doesn’t stop there, the Network Q programme also offers a free Accident Management Service. In the unfortunate event that a customer’s vehicle is involved in an incident, the Vauxhall Service is on hand to help. The team will contact the customer’s insurer, arrange for vehicle recovery, repair at a Vauxhall approved repairer, organise a courtesy car and the return of the vehicle.
Providing further protection for customers and their cars, every Network Q vehicle comes with a minimum one year’s warranty. Vehicles less than two years old get the balance of the manufacturer warranty, which lasts until the vehicle is three years old or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first).
